The scene where David Choe punches himself in the face until his nose starts haemorrhage, so that he tin can apply that claret to paint with, is interesting.
Fabricated over five years by his lifelong friend, Harry Kim, this is an open access, warts and all biography of one of graffiti art and contemporary civilisation's most tabloid worthy figures: David Choe. I was aware of him as a Vice Mag and youtube star before I knew of his artist. His piece of work isn't without merit, but I'll confess my involvement in him is commencement and foremost every bit a force-of-nature personality. I find him a deeply unnerving figure that always stirs up strong and securely conflicted emotions inside me. Equally I sit in my dingy as studio appartment I re-realized that this film is what got me hither. Don't get me wrong the appartment is fine it'due south just me who is pushing it to the verge of becoming a deplorable shithole. Just without this picture I wouldn't have even got to this point where things tin go actually downwards again. I would like rewatch this over again and I actually got the dvd which I excitingly ordered dorsum then even so a teenager and big Choe fanboy. i accept so much respect for david choe as an artist and as a person. parts of this actually resonated with me

Highlights seeing the human at piece of work doodling his signature whales around the LA streets, a $two.5m London arts exhibition and his corporate mural commissions that can cyberspace him tens of thousands of dollars a pop, including his facebook California offices i, that they visually looked unhappy with in this physician.

*Note I merely read and wasn't mentioned in this medico that he wisely took his fee in facebook company shares that over the years grew to a cyberspace worth estimated at $200m. Looking forrad to see the follow-up doc on how Choe blows it.
